HER STORY
Combining a foundation in investment banking and corporate strategy with a passion for economic empowerment, Sheila has built companies and initiatives that create value for global brands while helping people, businesses, and communities thrive.
Long before culture-first marketing became mainstream, Sheila built a career identifying emerging growth markets and creating new opportunities at the intersection of media, technology, and business.
At Morgan Stanley, she advised Global 1000 media and technology companies on mergers, acquisitions, and public offerings, including the IPO of the For Dummies book series. She later held leadership roles at Time Inc. and ESSENCE, launched new products, and led digital transformation initiatives that expanded audience growth and business performance.
In 2012, she founded Mirror Digital to help brands authentically engage multicultural, Gen Z, LGBTQ+, and female audiences. Under her leadership, the company has grown into a leading programmatic marketplace, creator network, and publisher ecosystem reaching 78 million monthly unique visitors. Mirror Digital generates meaningful revenue for diverse owned-and-operated creators, helping drive sustainable economic growth within historically underrepresented communities.
Today, Sheila remains a respected voice in advertising technology, digital analytics, and audience insights, speaking at major industry events including SXSW, Advertising Week, and IAB NewFronts.
Beyond her business achievements, Sheila is committed to expanding educational opportunity and advancing diversity in media and business. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the American Advertising Federation, where she chairs the Digital Committee; chairs the Board of Trustees of A Better Chance; serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees at Cate School; and is a Founding Member and Advisory Board Member of the Council of Urban Professionals.
Sheila graduated cum laude from Princeton University and earned her MBA from Harvard Business School. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Steven Heuer. Through her work as a founder, innovator, and philanthropist, she continues to create opportunities that expand access, accelerate growth, and strengthen communities.
“True innovation happens at the intersection of culture, technology, and economic opportunity. By building platforms that amplify inclusive voices, we don’t just capture markets, we move them forward.” — Sheila Marmon
